Privacy Policy

Effective October 9, 2026

The short version

Nerish is a personal relationship manager. Your connections and their details belong to you. We store them only to make the app work, we don't sell them or use them for advertising, and you can delete everything at any time.

Information you provide

Account: your name and email address, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign in with Apple, Google, or an emailed code. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive Apple's relay address.
Connections: the people you add and everything you record about them — names, contact details (phone, email, company, title, address), relationship type, industry, notes, tags, important dates, tasks, logged touchpoints, custom fields, referral links, and any closed-business amounts you enter.
Photos of connections: a profile photo you choose, or one copied from a contact you import, is stored with that connection until you remove it or delete the connection.
Business-card scans: card photos are sent to our processing provider (OpenAI) to read the text, then discarded; only the details you choose to keep are saved. Some scans are read entirely on your device and never leave it.
Note and document scans: when you scan meeting notes or a document, the text your device recognised — and, when that text is unclear (for example handwriting), the page images — is sent to OpenAI to produce a summary and suggested follow-up tasks. The images and text are not stored by Nerish; only the note and tasks you choose to save are kept.
Contacts import: if you import from your device Contacts, only the entries you select are copied into Nerish (name, phone numbers, email addresses, company, birthday, and photo). We never upload your full address book.
Linked contacts: if you link people to your Contacts, Nerish keeps their phone, email, company, title, photo, and birthday updated from your phone. Suggestions about new contacts are worked out on your phone and are never sent to us. If you choose “Save to Contacts”, Nerish adds that person to your device Contacts only after you confirm.

Data sent to OpenAI is processed under OpenAI's API terms, which do not use it to train their models.

Information collected automatically

Your device time zone and the reminder times you choose, so reminders and follow-up dates land at the right local time.
A push-notification token, if you enable notifications, so we can deliver reminders — through Apple Push Notification service on iPhone and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) on Android.
Basic subscription status (free or Pro), managed through the App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
Usage counters that enforce plan limits and protect the service: how many scans and photo uploads your account made each day, and, for each AI scan, the processing size and cost. These records contain no connection content.

How your information is used

To provide the core app: storing your connections, computing follow-up cadences, and sending reminders.
To process the business-card and note scans you request.
To manage your subscription, enforce plan limits, and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app.

Connecting a CRM

If you generate a CRM link in the app, the CRM you give that link to can read — and, if you allowed it, change — your Nerish connections and their history. Nothing is shared until you create a link, and you can revoke a link at any time.

Where it's stored

Your data is stored on our backend (Convex). Authentication is handled by Clerk; subscriptions by Apple, Google and RevenueCat; push delivery by Apple and Google; and scan processing by OpenAI. Each provider only receives what it needs to perform its function.

Your choices

Camera, Photos, Contacts, and Notifications are all opt-in — Nerish asks before using them, and you can change permissions in your device settings anytime.
You can edit or delete any connection at any time.
You can delete your account from inside the app (see below).

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and every connection, note, task, date, photo, device token and CRM link from our backend. If you can't access the app, email privacy@nerish.app from the address you sign in with and we'll delete it for you.

Deleting your Nerish account does not cancel a subscription — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your connections and related records are deleted from our systems. The usage counters described above are kept, linked only to an opaque sign-in identifier, so that deleting and re-creating an account can't be used to reset plan limits. Scanned card and note images are not retained after processing.

Children

Nerish is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
